2013 Rowayton Youth Soccer Online Registration Starts June 1, 2013

Rowayton Youth Soccer is a recreational community soccer program run by volunteers for children from 4-14 years old. The program attracts over 400 players each year and will run for 10 weeks from September 7 through November this year.

We have five age groups: 4-5 year olds, 6-7 year olds, 8-11 year olds, middle-school, and high school. While games are certainly competitive, recreation is our priority: the time commitment is limited to two days and a couple of hours per week; all play occurs locally in Rowayton (except for middle-school and high school divisions); practices are run as clinics by a professional trainer; and referees, scoring and team standings are limited to the four older age groups.

Also, as a volunteer-based organization, we are always looking for parents willing to coach. Contact Peter Gatt or Ian King if you are interested in volunteering.

Online registration will open on June 1, and registrations received after August 19 will incur a late-fee of $25 and will be accepted on a space-available basis only.

We have greatly expanded our use of on-line, internet resources to include player notification and game scheduling. Click on the link below to access those resources.

Four Different Age Groups

4-5 Year-Olds:
The 4-5 year-olds play games on the Rowayton School field Saturday mornings at 9:00am. If enough children for each age group participate, then we have split the two ages up in the past. Practices occur once a week by age group at the same location from 3:45-5:00pm as follows:

4 year-olds on Mondays
5 year-olds on Tuesdays

8-11 Year-Olds:
The 8-11 year-olds (children through 5th grade only) consists of 8 teams that play games on a full-sized field at Roton Middle School with Saturday morning starting times of 8:30, 10:00, 11:30am or 1:00pm. Practices occur once a week by team at the same location from 5:00-6:30pm last year as follows:

Germany and Spain on Mondays
Ireland and Scotland on Tuesdays
Portugal and England on Wednesdays
Italy and Argentina on Thursdays

6-7 Year-Olds:
The 6-7 year-olds play games on the Rowayton School field Saturday mornings at 10:00am. Practices occur once a week by age group at the same location from 3:45-5:00pm as follows:

6 year-olds on Wednesdays
7 year-olds on Thursdays

Middle School:
The middle school league for 12-14 year-olds consists of separate boys and girls teams that travel to adjacent communities in lower Fairfield County on Saturdays. Rowayton School field is the home field. Practices occur once a week by gender at the home field from 5:00-6:30pm as follows:

Girls on Tuesdays
Boys on Fridays

Coaches

Thank you to all our volunteer coaches and assistant coaches. Without you, there is no program. The Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) website provides useful coaching tips and information. Click on the link below to access the CJSA website, and then choose Coaching across the top of that page for access to such information.

Registration

We encourage parents to register early to help us plan for the fall season and also avoid missing the deadline. Late fees apply for registrations posted after the deadline.
