Rowayton’s Community Fence

The Rowayton Civic Association strives to keep residents informed of important issues that affect this community through the www.rowaytonct.com website, emails and through Currents, our semi-annual newsletter. It is also part of our mission to stay neutral on issues and advise in a way that represents the town’s best interests. We are aware that the new fence at the Old School Field has supporters and detractors. There are supporters and detractors among the RCA board on this issue, but we all agree on one thing: the removal process was flawed. In Rowayton, we honor our history and love our traditions. This fence represents one of those well-loved traditions. The City of Norwalk claimed jurisdiction over the space and proceeded with the project as planned despite the concern from our residents.

The Sixth Taxing District Commissioners made a sincere effort to stop the process, but were unable to; they were, however, able to negotiate for a more attractive fence than the one that was originally planned. While we accept the decision that has been made, we regret that the City of Norwalk did not work with Rowayton more proactively in this process. You’ll still see our RCA sign on the fence to advertise upcoming events and we encourage all of you to continue to hang your well-wishes to friends and family. We'll continue to support the efforts of the Sixth Taxing District and share any pertinent information with you.

Your Connection to Rowayton

The RCA's website, www.rowaytonct.com, is the primary information source for Rowayton, and the key component in our efforts to communicate with our residents. The website allows the RCA to provide residents with the most up-to-date information on events, programs, community resources and important issues affecting our town.

The RCA website also enables us to conserve valuable financial resources such as printing and mailing costs, so that we can use these funds to support important town programs and initiatives.

Check out all the information available on the website at www.rowaytonct.com! Add it to your Favorites, or go to your browser’s Preferences menu and make it your home page.

RCA Sailboat Decal - show your pride for Rowayton!

Pick up the popular RCA Sailboat decal at all major RCA events or by ordering online here. The cost of the decal is $10.00; get one for each car! Thanks to the generous donation of an RCA board member who funded the printing costs, all of the proceeds from the sales of the decals go directly to fund your favorite RCA events such as the Memorial Day Parade, Fireworks, Summer Music Festival, Holiday Lights and many more.

The RCA is offering merchandise with the sailboat logo, produced by SoLuxe. New products – from license plates to picnic plates and drinkware – are available now.
